It's hard to believe that the modern Santa Claus evolved from St. Nicholas, a 4th-century Middle Eastern saint who was adopted by the Dutch as their own. Register to join this special Iowa History 101 with State Historical Society of Iowa Administrator Val Van Kooten to learn more about "Good St. Nick" and his travels across time and space as he makes his home with the Dutch in Iowa. During the program, we will also take a look at the controversies surrounding this beloved figure in the Netherlands today.
