In 1973, the General Assembly created the Campaign Finance Disclosure Commission which was organized the following year. The primary function of the Board was to review, monitor and make available for public inspection financial disclosure reports filed by political committees and candidate committees. Following the passage of the Iowa Public Officials Act in 1993, the Board's responsibilities were expanded to include receiving and making available for public inspection personal disclosure reports from covered officials and employees as well as disclosure reports from executive branch lobbyists and their clients.
Some or all of these records are available to search in the Iowa History Collections Catalog.
