The image shows a delivery wagon of Flynn Farm Dairy on a residential street in Des Moines, Iowa. A driver handles a team of four horses pulling a wagon full of milk cans. Milk was delivered from the farm to the creamery in milk cans like these. At the creamery, some of the milk would be made into yogurt, cheese or butter. Some dairy farmers likely delivered milk directly to residents of Des Moines as well. The population of Des Moines in 1920 was 126,468, and the population in 2010 was 203,433.
