Civics in Action

Visit the new Civics in Action exhibit to discover more about the civic ideals of the United States and Iowa, and the importance of civics in our communities. The exhibition features the Iowa caucuses and Iowans of action with more than 60 artifacts.

• Original pen-and-ink political cartoon by Ding Darling
• Olympic torch carried by Mia Peterson, national advocate for people with disabilities
• Election tickets from the 1860s and 1870s
• Pen Ambassador Terry Branstad used when he was governor to sign legislation for the construction of the State Historical Building
