Description

New York City has some of the busiest streets in the world. Even with a large public transit system, the 12,000 yellow taxicabs can be seen transporting people throughout the city. This image shows the intersection of 6th Ave. & Central Park South in New York City and fits in the category of a "main street-like” image of the city. The population of New York City was 3,437,202 in 1900 and had grown to 8,175,133 in 2010.
