8th Annual Iowa State Fair Historical Walking Tour

Iowans are invited to take a healthy step forward by stepping back in time. The 8th annual Iowa State Fair Historical Walking Tour, co-hosted by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs and Iowa's Healthiest State Initiative, starts at 8:15 a.m. the first day of the fair, Aug. 11, on the Grand Concourse (near the Administration Building) and ends about 45 minutes later at the fair's opening ceremony. Guides from the State Historical Society of Iowa will make several stops at historic sites along the 1K route.
