This professional development focuses on Integrating Social Studies and Literacy Connections into K-5 Classrooms. Explore the best practices for integrating social studies and literacy into your K-5 classrooms. Participants will receive exclusive access to the museum’s primary sources - both archives and collection objects - as well as learn from teacher facilitators who will model best practices for using primary sources and inquiry in elementary classrooms. Participants will work closely with the museum education’s digital and print social studies and literacy resources, such as Goldie’s History Kits. Participants will walk away with resources and lesson plans to implement in their classrooms.
This two-day seminar is held for K-5 teachers and there is no fee to participate. You just need to register so you are able to receive LR credit and we are able to communicate with you once the date gets closer. Lunch will be provided both days.
